Apple unveiled new iPad models and more at its Let Loose event today. The most striking of the renewed models was the 13-inch iPad Pro. Switching to OLED display for the first time, Apple promises significant gains in performance. Here are 13-inch iPad features, design and price.
13-inch iPad Pro features for $1299
Apple has been using a miniLED display on iPad Pro since 2021. With the renewed model, the transition to OLED display was officially made. This shows that after iPhones and MacBooks, Apple tablets have also adopted OLED technology.
The 13-inch iPad Pro features Ultra Retina XDR. It offers 1000 nits of full-screen brightness for both SDR and HDR brightness. It also has 1600 nits of peak HDR brightness. The OLED display provides sub-millisecond control over color and brightness.
Apple also said it is offering its thinnest devices since the iPod Nano. It will come in two color options, Silver and Space Black. It also has a 100 percent recycled aluminum finish. The 13-inch model is 5.1 mm thin.
The renewed iPad Pro processor will be M4. The M4 chip, the first model of the renewed silicon processors, was developed with 2nd generation 3nm technology. The new CPU promises 50 percent faster performance compared to the M2 iPad Pro. It has 4 performance cores and 6 efficiency cores. The GPU has a 10-core structure and offers 4 times faster processing compared to M2.
On the other hand, the processor has a Neural Engine engine. This enables the acceleration of artificial intelligence loads. According to Apple, it can perform 38 trillion operations per second. That’s 60 times faster than the first Neural Engine in the A11 Bionic.
The new iPad Pro also features a 12 Megapixel f/1.8 rear camera. It’s capable of shooting 4K ProRes videos and is supported by four studio microphones and a LiDAR scanner. There is also a TruTone flash.
The new iPad Pro models come with 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, 2TB storage options. The 11-inch will be available starting at $999 and the 13-inch at $1299. It should be noted that it will be available next week.
